What is a Rebus?
Room 9 has been writing rebus recounts about their school holidays. A rebus uses pictures and symbols to tell stories instead of words. Can you decipher our rebuses? You can also listen to each rebus read by its author.

Laserforce
We are learning to write detailed descriptions of a place.Have a read of Dong Hae's description of Laserforce...
At Laserforce I saw fake laser guns and protective vests and the vests felt a little bit heavy. I felt scared when I first got inside, but when I did the missions I didn't feel scared. I heard people's whispers because they didn't want to get spotted and get shot. I saw dark battle field and small shortcuts. The shortcuts were like small dark caves. I could only see a little bit of light coming from the guns and vests. When I had finished all our missions I wanted to go again because it was nearly the most fun place ever!

RICE in Reverse!
We have been learning how to define respect and co-operation. Last week we wrote some clever definitions of each topic. Today we used the Reverse Key to help us to think about respect and co-operation. When we use the Reverse Key we place words such as cannot, never and not into a sentence to get us thinking...
We had to list ways you cannot show co-operation/respect. Here are some of our ideas.

Eat someone else’s lunch.
Get your teacher to do everything.

In Room 9 we are different...
