The Three Gates

Before we speak or act, our words and actions should pass through three gates.
We can ask ourselves...

Class Treaty

We've finished writing our class treaty and have decided on these 7 main guidelines to make sure our class runs smoothly.

In Room 9 we will…

Think before we speak and act – remember the 3 gates.

Listen to each other and wait for our turn.

Work hard to do our very best.

Make sure we don’t stop others from working.

Use whisper mode at the right times.

Care for each other and work as a team.

Try to figure things out and solve problems.

RICE in Reverse!

We have been learning how to define respect and co-operation. Last week we wrote some clever definitions of each topic. Today we used the Reverse Key to help us to think about respect and co-operation. When we use the Reverse Key we place words such as cannot, never and not into a sentence to get us thinking...

We had to list ways you cannot show co-operation/respect. Here are some of our ideas.

Post a comment if you can suggest the co-operative or respectful opposite to our ideas.

Respect

Start food fights.

Eat someone else’s lunch.

Get your teacher to do everything.

- Luke

Talk over the top of other people.

Annoy other people.

- Leila

Ripping school books

Scribble on other people’s work.

- Ha Won

Push past people.

Say ‘no’ to people who want to be your friend.

- Celine

Co-operation

Don’t help people.

Don’t work out problems.

- Summer

Fight over a toy.

Keep good ideas to yourself.

- Dong Hae

Turn your back when someone’s talking.

- Rebekah

Who are you?

Click on this picture to take you to a cool site where you can make a poster that shows how you are different and special. You can even print your poster out or e-mail it to Mrs Seath (ask for help from an adult to take a screen shot or save it as a pdf file).
