Liam's Recount

In the afternoon, me, mum, Veni, and my cousin went to the beach. I saw people swimming in the water. I swam. It was cold like ice. There was a park as well, so after we swam I played in the park. Soon we went back home. I watched Nickelodeon and I went back to be ready for school. But when I woke up I was late for school. I had to wash my face and have breakfast and got in the car. We drove to the school . I went to the office to say I was late and I went to class. We did the roll and the messages. After that we did writing. I wrote about going to the beach!

The Three Gates

Before we speak or act, our words and actions should pass through three gates.
We can ask ourselves...

Class Treaty

We've finished writing our class treaty and have decided on these 7 main guidelines to make sure our class runs smoothly.

In Room 9 we will…

Think before we speak and act – remember the 3 gates.

Listen to each other and wait for our turn.

Work hard to do our very best.

Make sure we don’t stop others from working.

Use whisper mode at the right times.

Care for each other and work as a team.

Try to figure things out and solve problems.

ALL ABOUT ME

Hello my name is Jake. When I wake up the first thing I do is eat my breakfast. After that I get ready for school. My favourite subject in school is maths. After school I go home and read and watch TV. If I could have 1 wish my wish would be a Playstation 2 and the game Jack and Dexter 2. I love my little brother very much. I think that people like me because I am different.

Rock Climbing - By Jerome

At morning tea time at school the clashing wind was so intense that it made me really cold. First I had to eat my morning tea. It was delicious. As time went by I was finished eating. I raced to the rock climbing wall. There was no sign of rain. I started climbing. I tried to avoid obstacles like people throwing other people's hats away and people taking other people's hands of the rocks. Finally I made it to the top of the rock climbing wall. When I was at the top I looked over the school roof and I could nearly see the whole view of the sky tower. I turned around and I could see the whole playground. I saw people going on the flying fox, through the spinning circles, and through the monkey bars. Suddenly the bell rang so we had to go back to class. I felt glad because rock climbing was fun.

Special Me - by Celine

My brain is smart and helps me to do maths. My hands help me to practise doing recorder at home. My feet help me to run in races. Someone in my heart is my mum and dad because they love me and are helpful.

Synonyms

Today we learned about our new reading activity called Superword! You have to come up with as many synonyms for the superword as you can! This Between the Lions video gave us some inspiration.
Let's try out the Superword on our blog... Leave a comment with a synonym for 'happy'.

RICE in Reverse!

We have been learning how to define respect and co-operation. Last week we wrote some clever definitions of each topic. Today we used the Reverse Key to help us to think about respect and co-operation. When we use the Reverse Key we place words such as cannot, never and not into a sentence to get us thinking...

We had to list ways you cannot show co-operation/respect. Here are some of our ideas.

Post a comment if you can suggest the co-operative or respectful opposite to our ideas.
